iWitness in Budapest: Friday
01 August 08
Nico and Kazuki weren’t the only ones lapping the Hungaroring today. Claire Williams was back on-track for her regular Friday evening run, joined this weekend by AT&T Williams Account Manager, Nick Hayes and F1 Racing’s Stuart Codling. They completed the 4.381km (2.722-mile) lap in 25 minutes, watched by none other than Frank Williams from the back of the team motorhome.
While driving back into Budapest this evening, Kazuki spotted an interesting place to have dinner. A crane situated adjacent to Hero’s Square hoists tables of 20 into the sky for dinner – a novel place to eat, until you find out it costs 1,000 euros/head for two hours.
Former Williams F1 driver Damon Hill was a welcome guest in the AT&T Williams motorhome today. The 1996 World Champion is at the Hungaroring – scene of his maiden Grand Prix victory in 1993 – to commentate for ITV-F1 this weekend in place of Martin Brundle, who’s on holiday.
Adrian Sutil plans to attend the MotoGP race at Misano later this year. He has a ride on the Ducati two-seater planned and also hopes to meet Yamaha’s James Toseland, who visited the AT&T Williams factory in June. Don’t go shedding any secrets about our simulator, James…
