Eleven Times
When Jacques Villeneuve came second at Spa in 1996, it was his 10th podium of the season. He would finish in the points 11 times that year, and end up second to team mate Damon Hill in the title race.

1986
Nigel Mansell won the 1986 Belgian Grand Prix. It was the fifth race in the calendar but his first win of the season. Mansell went on to win three of the next four races, helping the team to win the Constructors’ Championship.

1981
Carlos Reutemann’s win in 1980, his third for Williams, was the last of his career. Afterwards, he decided not to do a lap of honour as a result of an accident which injured an Arrows mechanic and “other events during the weekend.”

133 Points
Other than Monaco, the Belgian Grand Prix is the European race at which Williams has scored the lowest wins. No Williams driver has won in Belgium since Damon Hill in 1994, and the last Williams pole position was by Montoya in 2001. However, the team has had 16 podiums, most recently Montoya’s third place in 2002.

Williams cars have set the fastest lap in the Belgian GP five times, but three of those came back to back in 1993 – 1995, courtesy of Alain Prost, Damon Hill and David Coulthard. The most recent Williams driver to do so was Jacques Villeneuve in 1997.

If a Williams driver wins in Belgium, history tells us he’s likely to be British. One of the four Williams wins in Belgium was taken by Carlos Reutemann, but the only other Williams winners were Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill.
