Kazuki's Singapore Blog: Friday

It’s bumpy out there! I’m feeling battered and bruised and I’ve only completed 55 laps of the Marina Bay Circuit. After Sunday’s 61-lap race, I’ll be in need of some physio.
Aside from the bumps, though, I really like the circuit. There aren’t many fast corners, but it’s tricky and the walls are very unforgiving. You have to be very precise with you lines and your braking. A lot of people are asking me about the artificial lighting around the track and I think the organisers have done a very good job. There are a few dark spots around the lap, such as at Turn 5, but it’s not too bad.
Aside from the on-track action, I’ve had a busy day of PR duties. I had to set my alarm clock two hours earlier than normal in order to have lunch with the President of Singapore (remember I’m keeping European time for the weekend), then I had lots of interviews throughout the afternoon.
One of the other things that struck me today was the dedication of the fans. I left the track at 0300 (Saturday morning) and there were still fans waiting by the turnstiles. The least I could do was sign an autograph or two!
